The Russo family opened “Russo’s Italian Restaurant” in the early age of 12 in 1978, after moving from New York to Texas. Russo’s Italian Restaurant was a fine dining establishment that featured Russo family recipes passed down through generations, updated with a modern sensibility.
Anthony Russo is a first-generation Italian. Both parents immigrated from Sicily and Naples, to New York in 1962. From the early age of 12, Anthony spent plenty of time in the kitchen with his family and other influential Italian chefs. He knew that great New York-style pizza could be made anywhere by using quality ingredients, his family recipes, and a whole lot of passion.
Using his culinary experience, Anthony was able to blend the simplicity of the pizzeria with the freshness of the upscale Italian restaurant. It was at this time that the Pizzeria concept started to materialize. Anthony’s was able to serve high-quality food while providing a quick and casual dining experience. And that was Russo’s New York Pizzeria.
Today Russo’s has over 50 locations, with 36 in development national and international. The Russo’s franchise concept has been launched nationally and internationally. Even as the franchise empire continues to expand, Anthony has always stayed grounded to his roots. He truly believes that freshness and quality are his standards for success.

Junior Chef Program

Russo’s NY Pizzeria UAE launched the Junior chef program in 2018 across all of its branches as the first of its kind to launch such an activity in the UAE. The program extends from Kids birthday parties, in-house restaurant visits, to school events. Kids of all ages can learn how to make their very own pizza in the exciting learning environment of a real-life pizza restaurant or on-site school events.
Children are taught and supervised by qualified chefs who will guide each child how to make pizza from scratch. Children learn about fresh ingredients in this interactive and engaging experience. When the course is completed, each child will have made their very own garlic knots and pizza. They will be presented with a certificate & a free kids meal voucher to avail on their next visit to Russo’s.
Russo’s Junior Chef has a proven success of the support of 11 schools participated & 3,703 children who we passed our passion for pizza baking to - all in 2018.
